This year in Rio, golf will return to the Olympics for the first time since 1904. The course, which is tucked away in Barra da Tijuca's Reserva Marapendi, was designed specifically for the 2016 Games by renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse.
Located about three miles from the Olympic Village, the course is dotted with unique features, including two artificial lakes and a variety of flora and fauna native to the region.
