Get Your Game On Target

Hitting more par 3 greens in regulation will help you shoot lower scores.
And, finding the putting surface more regularly from the tee wil increase your chances of firing a hole-in-one!

Here are some sharp shooting tips to help you find the target more often.

TEE BOX TIPS TO HIT THE TARGET

1. ANGLE OF ATTACK

It’s at the tee box where golfers have the most advantage. After all, it’s the only place where we can choose where to play from (within the markers of course). Try following this simple rule when attacking tight pin positions. With a pin tucked at the right side of the green, tee up on the left hand side of the tee box. With a pin tucked at the left side of the green, tee up on the right hand side of the tee box.

2. WIND

Most golfers will pick a few blades of grass and toss it into the air to gauge the wind direction and its strength. By doing this over the ball, it only gives you part of the total judgement you will require to make the proper assessment of your shot to the hole. You may be teeing off from a position sheltered from stronger winds. In well-treed settings, watch for the movement of the limbs and leaves at around the height you expect to loft your approach. And always check the movement of the flag at your green.

3. CLUB SELECTION

The most common shot in golf is the mis-hit. And when it comes to firing at the green, most attempts fall well short of the pin. In most cases your shot will end in a bunker or hazard with no chance of rolling into the cup. For a simple solution, take one extra club at Par 3s. E.g. Use a 6-iron instead of a 7-iron.
